Let me introduce myself

I’m Sarah Daniel, Ph.D. — Neuroscientist, Professional Writer, & Founder of In Scripto

I began In Scripto with the desire to support fellow academics in communicating their work. After all, science can only bring about effective change if it is funded and shared.

My mission is simple: To get you back to the important work you do and to the parts of your job that you love, while I do what I love…writing!

My Background

Before I graduated with a Ph.D. in Neuroscience from Emory University in 2016, my undergraduate work was done at Barnard College at Columbia University, a liberal arts school in New York City.

I initially began my college career in Manhattan seeking to be a dancer — a lifelong dream of mine. However, when I arrived at Barnard, much to my surprise, I quickly fell in love with Neuroscience. Soon, I changed my major and never looked back.

After graduating from Barnard in 2009, I moved back to Atlanta — near my family and the home where I grew up — to complete my education at Emory. In 2016, I defended my dissertation on stress-induced changes in anxiety circuitry in the brain and graduated with my P.h.D.

Because of this somewhat unique and diverse background, I bring to the table both a passion for and knowledge of science, but also strong writing skills and a liberal arts education.

My first professional experience in combining these two loves was as an academic editor. I helped fellow scientists from around the world proofread and edit their writing as they sought publication.

Now, I am thrilled to provide researchers with more in-depth editing and writing support through my own company, In Scripto.

In addition to loving science and writing, I also love my life as a mom, wife, Peloton enthusiast, and self-identified coffee addict.

I would love to connect with you and learn more about the important work you are doing in the world. You can reach me at SarahDaniel@InScriptoScience.com.
